Wood Burning Stoves in Wimbledon

Casa supplies and installs wood burning stoves in Wimbledon and surrounding parts of South West London. Our experienced team manages each project from the initial assessment through to the completed stove installation.

We install wood burning and multi-fuel stoves in period and contemporary properties. Our services also cover chimney liners, flue systems, hearths, mantelpieces and fireplace preparation.

Wood Burning Stove Installation in Wimbledon

Every home requires a carefully planned stove installation. Our team begins by assessing the fireplace, chimney, room size and ventilation requirements.

We then recommend a suitable stove and explain the work involved. This gives the homeowner a clear understanding of the project before installation begins.

Depending on the property, the work may include:

• Removing an old fireplace or gas fire
• Opening and preparing the fireplace chamber
• Squaring off the fireplace opening
• Fitting a chimney liner and internal flue pipe
• Installing a chimney pot and suitable cowl
• Rendering the fireplace chamber
• Laying a new constructional or projecting hearth
• Fitting a register plate or throat plate
• Installing a beam or mantelpiece
• Connecting and testing the wood burning stove
• Completing the required HETAS certification

Casa can manage the complete installation. This means homeowners do not need to coordinate several different trades.

Stoves for Wimbledon Homes

Wimbledon contains a varied mix of period houses, Victorian and Edwardian terraces, converted properties and modern homes. Fireplace openings and chimney systems can therefore differ considerably between properties.

Some older homes retain their original chimney breasts and fireplaces. However, previous alterations may have changed the chamber, hearth or internal flue.

Our team checks the existing fireplace and chimney before recommending an installation method. We can identify potential problems with the opening, chimney route or ventilation at an early stage.

A correctly chosen stove should suit both the room and the property. Our installers consider the available space, room size and heating requirements when discussing the options.

Completed Stove Installation in Wimbledon

Casa recently completed a full wood burning stove installation in Wimbledon. The project transformed a worn gas fireplace into a clean and practical new focal point.

Our team removed the old fireplace before knocking out the chamber and squaring off the opening. The installers then fitted a new flue liner and adapter.

We rendered the chamber and prepared its base for the new tiled hearth. Our team carefully positioned the hearth tiles before completing the final fitting.

The installation also included a white marble mantel. We fitted and levelled the mantel legs before adding the frieze and shelf.

Finally, our installers positioned the stove and connected it to the new flue system. The marble mantel and neutral tiled hearth complement the room’s original wooden floorboards.

Chimney Liners and Flue Systems

The chimney and flue system play an essential role in every wood burning stove installation.

Our team inspects the available chimney route before selecting the correct installation method. Where necessary, we can fit a flexible flue liner, internal stove pipe, chimney pot and suitable cowl.

We connect each component carefully to create a complete route between the stove and chimney terminal.

Properties without a suitable masonry chimney may require a different approach. Casa can assess the property and advise whether a twin-wall flue system offers a suitable solution.

Fireplace Chambers, Hearths and Mantelpieces

Installing a stove often involves more than fitting the appliance. The existing fireplace may need opening, repairing or rendering before it can accommodate the new stove.

Our team can knock out and prepare the chamber, square off the opening and apply a suitable internal finish.

We also install hearths in materials and styles that complement the chosen stove. Options can include slate, stone and tiled hearths, depending on the installation.

A fireplace beam or mantelpiece can complete the transformation. Casa supplies and installs mantelpieces, fireplace surrounds and combinations for traditional and contemporary interiors.

Chimney Sweeping in Wimbledon

Casa provides professional chimney sweeping in Wimbledon for wood burning stoves and open fireplaces.

Regular sweeping removes soot and deposits from the chimney. It also allows the chimney sweep to check the accessible parts of the flue system.

Our team has NACS Master Chimney Sweep Gold Badge status. We use professional equipment and take care to protect the surrounding room while completing the work.

Wood Burning Stove Servicing in Wimbledon

Annual stove servicing helps maintain the condition and performance of a wood burning stove.

Our service can include cleaning the appliance and checking accessible components for damage or wear. We can also inspect door seals, firebricks, baffle plates and the visible flue connection.

If we identify a problem, we explain the available options before undertaking additional work.

CCTV Chimney and Flue Inspections

Some chimney problems remain hidden during a standard visual assessment. CASA provides CCTV chimney and flue inspections when a closer internal examination is required.

A camera inspection can help investigate blockages, damage and concerns about an existing flue system. It can also provide useful information before planning remedial work or a new stove installation.
